There comes a moment when you realize the attack wasn’t random—it was connected to your assignment. The enemy doesn’t waste time attacking what isn’t a threat. He attacks your identity because he knows if he can make you question who God says you are, he can delay where God is taking you. Welcome back to Healing Women of Color. Tonight, I want to discuss the enemy attacks what God has anointed. I want to have a different atmosphere opening up with prayer. I want to set the tone for God's presence in this episode. Father God, we come before you with open hearts. Open minds and surrendered spirits. Holy Spirit, take control of this moment. Every word spoken. Every heart, listening, every person who feels weary in their assignment. Meet them. Where they are. Remove confusion, Heavenly Father. Lord God, break shame. Silence, every voice that contradicts what you have spoken to them, Lord God. Let this not just be another episode, but let it be an encounter with you, Jesus. And Jesus, holy name. We do pray. Amen. I want to ask you a question. Have you ever noticed that the moment you decide to obey God, everything starts fighting against you? The moment you say, I'm going higher. Something tries to, to pull you. Backwards. The moment you finally walk, In your calling, the moment you finally say, yes, God, I'll go. The moment you finally walk away from something God delivered you from. Suddenly, old doors start to knocking. Boom, boom, boom. Old conversations, old relationships, old temptations, old mindsets, old versions of yourself. Start to try to creep back in. And you start asking yourself, Why is this happening now? Why are they calling now? Why do they want to do right now? Where did you come from? How did you get here? Because... the enemy understands something. that many of us forget. He cannot destroy what God has blessed. So he tries to distract what God has assigned. The enemy's greatest weapon is not always destruction. Sometimes, it's distraction. Sometimes it's confusion. Sometimes it's making you question your identity. So deeply. That you abandon your assignment. I want to have a scripture foundation here in this next step that we take. I wanna read from Matthew 3 and 16, verse 17. And a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased. Immediately. After Jesus received confirmation of his identity, This is the scripture. Next scripture, Matthew form one. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted. By the devil. Notice this. Then in me, did not attack Jesus before God declared him, and confirmed who he was in him. The attack came after, Why? Because hell responds to what heaven has confirmed. The enemy challenged Jesus with, if you are the Son of God. The enemy questioned his identity. See, the enemy doesn't come with statements. He comes with questions planted. Those questions that you get from long lost friends, or so called friends, or people that have fallen off along the way, those coworkers, those family members, they bring up old people. Uh, you, you remember so and so? What happened with so-and-so? God has delivered you and moved you forward. You're the righteousness of God, moving in the Holy Spirit. Fasting, praying, giving yourself and denying your faith, faith, flesh, and, and, Standing on your faith. Day after day. And here comes the enemy with a question. Are you still talking and so-and-so? Because the enemy, If he could make Jesus, Doubt who he was, he could challenge his assignment. So you have to be aware of how the enemy presents himself through people. to try to attack your identity. But Jesus knew. He did not argue. He didn't perform. He did not prove himself. You know how he responded? Jesus responded with the word of God. Jesus responded with the word of God, we have to respond with the word of God. The Holy Spirit. Is your guide through warfare. This is warfare. And before we talk about warfare, We have to talk about the Holy Spirit. Because you cannot fight spiritual battles with natural weapons. Second Corinthians 10 and 4 says, for the weapons of our warfare are not kernel, but my tea, through God, to the pulling down of strongholds. Hallelujah. The Holy Spirit is not just a feeling. The Holy Spirit is not just a Sunday experience. The Holy Spirit is your counselor. The Holy Spirit is your conviction. Your discerner, your strength, when your emotions are exhausted. The Holy Spirit is your reminder when your memory fails, when the enemy tries to, Put doubt, shame, and guilt. In your mind, the Holy Spirit is your comfort when obedience feels lonely. John 14 and 26 says, but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name. will teach you all these things and bring it to your remembrance, all that I have said to you. God has already confirmed, that you are the righteousness of God. Those who have sought and pursued and believed in him and put down the picked up the cross to follow Jesus Christ truly. You are the righteousness of God. And when the enemy brings up your past, The Holy Spirit reminds you of your promise. When shame says, you're not worthy. The Holy Spirit says, you are redeemed. You have the victory. The battle is already won. When doubt says you're not qualified, the Holy Spirit says, uh-uh. God called you. And if God is for you, who can be against you? I believe God. Say I believe God. There's 7 points. Then I always want to establish, to give context, to give clarity. In each episode, And I have 7. The 1st point is. The enemy will attack your identity before he attacks your assignment. And there's a question I have for you for reflection. Who told you that you were not enough? Who told you that? Who convinced you that your past disqualified you? Who told you that? Who made you believe? Praise God. Who made you believe your mistakes were stronger than God's mercy? Who told you that? The enemy's strategy has always been identity confusion. Listen to this. The enemy strategy has always been identity, confusion, identity, confusion, identity, confusion. It is critical to know who you are and whose you are. It is critical to know this and to make sure that you know in the enemy knows, and that you declare this every day, all day, because the enemy's strategy, his target, has always been identity confusion. And if you don't know who you are, huh? You were in trouble. If you don't know whose you are, you are in trouble. In Genesis, Satan did not start by attacking Eve's actions. He attacked her understanding of God. He didn't attack her. He attacked her understanding. Genesis 3 and one verses Genesis verse 3 and one says, did God really say? So he came with that, the question. The enemy plants, questions. Did God really call you questions like, did God really forgive you? Did God really change you? Are you really changed? I have no, I know this is a common one. Oh, you're not really changed. You steal this and there's still that. You know? Enemy, the devil, will try to attack your identity. You still do this. Are you still doing that? Another question. Are you really healed? Are you really chosen? You got to believe, if you say you believe, that you are the righteousness of God, that you, a reflection of his image, you got to believe, you have to believe that. You have to believe that. I don't care if you say it until you don't believe in it. You say it until you do, because if he can make you, if the enemy can make you question your identity, you will hesitate in your assignment, and your assignment is detrimental to deliverance. To deliver, you don't know what God has assigned you to, your life is an assignment. You're chosen by God as an assignment to, to, to be a reflection, because there are souls that need to be saved, and that is what God is wanting, and the enemy knows if he can attack your identity. He can delay your assignment, which means he can delay souls being saved and set free. Not your spirit, souls, because the only thing that is stopping you is not your spirit, your spirit wants to comply. The only thing that's stopping you from obeying God and hesitating to fulfill the assignment that he has given you since before birth, that he has planned for you, is your soul. Your soul is resisting. The flesh is resisting. Enemy will know you are hesitating your assignment. But your identity is not built on your feelings. It's not built on your feelings. Your identity is built on what God declared. 1st Peter 2 and 9 says, but you are chosen. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession. Think about this. God said that we are his special possession. Think about how you treat things that are special to you. You keep them safe in a case, you make sure that they're protected. That's good. You make sure that they're protected. You make sure that don't nobody touch this side. You might even put an alarm on it. This is how God, sees us. It's up away from everything else. You cannot touch this. This is special to me. not touch this. This is mine. This belongs to me, not you. This is... precious. That is, that is how God sees us. And you have to believe that. I'm just getting started. point two. The assignment comes with resistance. We have to stop being surprised by warfare. Many people think, if God called me, everything should just be become easier, should be peach queen, and I won't, I won't face any, any, uh, adversity, uh, or struggle, wrong. Scripture shows is just the opposite. Moses was called to deliver Israel, resistance came that came Pharaoh. Joseph was called to leadership. The pit came. David was anointed king. The wilderness came. Jesus was called savior. The cross came. He was crucified. He was persecuted. He was beaten. He was almost killed. instantly. Your resistance does not mean you miss God. No, it doesn't mean that. Sometimes resistance confirms you are moving in the right direction. So when that person comes to question your identity or to bring up your past, Remember, Oh, okay. I'm moving. I'm moving, where I need to be moving. I'm going where I need to be going. Thank you, Jesus. It's confirmation. You're moving in the right direction. Isaiah 54 and 17 says, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Notice it says formed. No weapon formed. Not no weapon will be created. Weapons may form, attacks may come. People may misunderstand you, but it's not your responsibility to, to, to carry or to care about being misunderstood. Doors may close, but they will not have the final word. They will not have the final word. Point number three. Old doors will try to reopen when God closes them. Have you ever noticed that when God frees you from something, it suddenly appears again? The person you stop thinking about calls. Hello, what is, what, why are you calling me? Who is why? Why are they calling me? The opportunity you prayed for years ago appears. The temptation you overcame comes back. Why do I keep dealing with this same thing, Lord? Why? Why? Because the enemy wants to see if you truly, if you truly believe, if you truly believe your freedom, he wants to see. He wants to know. He's gonna test you. Luke 9 and 62. No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God. In this verse, God is saying, you cannot move forward while constantly negotiating with your past. Think about Lot's wife, in the Bible, and the scripture says, Genesis 19 in 26 says, but Lot's wife, look back, and she became a pillar of salt. She was physically in her body, leaving Sodom. But emotionally, she was still attached to Sodom. Some people leave places physically, but remain spiritually connected. to where God has delivered them from. God is saying, I delivered you. Don't romanticize what I rescued you from. I can imagine God saying, you begged me. You begged me. You begged me to, to, to, to open a door, to rescue you from this situation. You cried, many nights, you wept, you endured, you were beaten for your transgressions. You were bruised for your iniquity. And then you have the audacity to look backwards? That is probably the most disrespectful thing you could probably imagine how someone's coming to help you, reach out of hand, and you had to notice that, and you know what? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want to go back to the chaos. I want to go back to being in, in, in, uh, bound in, in, in shackles, in a slave to sin. I want to go back to my vomit. But you know what? God is a God of grace and mercy. You have free will. But there is no free will without consequence. And when Lot's wife turn and look back, that's why she received that pillow of assault. Don't romanticize what what the Lord Jesus has rescued you from. Lord, talk to us today. .4. Shame is a weapon designed to keep you hidden. The enemy loves shame because shame makes people hide. It makes people be quiet. It silences the voices. Adam and Eve hit. Peter, he had after denying Jesus 3 times. But God restores. The Lord says, come to me. Come to me. All those who are broken and heavy laden. Come to me. And I will give you rest. No shame. No shame. Romans 8 and one. Verse 8 and one, there was, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And if you're following, this is Romans in the Bible, chapter 8, verse one. There is, therefore, now, no condemnation. I don't condemn you. For those who are in Christ Jesus. For those who are in Christ Jesus, conviction says, Come back to God. Shame says, run from God. You're not good enough. You did this. You did that. But Jesus said, There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Come back to me. Come back home. Don't run from me. Jesus. wants you to come back home. The Holy Spirit corrects you because he loves you, y'all. Then in me condemns you because he wants you stuck. See, there's love in correction. There's condemnation and stagnation. Wow. But speak to us, God. Ask yourself. There's condemnation and stagnation. is stagnation and condemnation. either way. Ask yourself, I want you to ask yourself this question. Am I allowing something? Am I allowing something, God forgave me for? To become something. I punish myself for. You're forgiven. .5. Doubt will challenge what God already confirmed. Doubt will challenge what God has already confirmed. The enemy loves attacking your confidence. Not arrogance. Confidence. There's pride and arrogance. God didn't give you arrogance. God gave us confidence, confidence in him, confidence in God, confidence in your calling, confidence in what he placed inside of you. God gave us confidence in his plans that he has for us, okay? And we want to go to scripture chapter... Scripture, Jeremiah, chapter one and five. Jeremiah one and five. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. God knew you before people judged you, before rejection. Before trauma tried to claim you, before mistakes, before disappointment. Before your assignment existed, your God already knew your assignment existed before your opposition. Jesus knew. .6. You must protect your oil. The oil represents God's presence. Glory to his name, empowerments and anointing. You cannot keep asking God for new oil while entertaining old distractions. Gotta stop playing. Some things cannot go with you into your next season. Some relationships, some habits, some mindsets, some conversations, some environments. They can go with you. Scripture, uh, Matthew, chapter 25 and 4 says, the wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. They didn't just take the lamp, they took oil, because they wanted to be wise and prepared. Because they knew that lap oil would run out, so they took extra. They took oil with the lamps. They protected what God gave them. That oil, protect that oil. Ask yourself this. What am I carrying that God never told me to carry? What are you carrying that God never called you to carry? What is draining your oil? What's draining you? What keeps pulling your attention away? From my your assignment. What keeps pulling my attention away from my assignment? Point number seven. And final points. Keep your eyes forward, because your future requires focus. You gotta put on those blinders. You can be looking through your peripheral, through your, your, your rear view mirror. This is this is the final push. This is, there was too much ahead of you to keep looking behind you. Philippians 3 and 13 through 14 says, forgetting what is behind and straining. And, and, and I'll tell you, baby, when I, when, when that, that straining is a straining, because it feels like you're fighting for your life. You're running for your life. You just want to touch the hem of Jesus garment and you just got to get there when I tell you that this scripture, Philippians 3 and 13, 14, is so relevant. It's so relevant to to fulfilling your assignment, your calling, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the go. I'm gonna keep on keeping on. I'm gonna press on. No matter how, the struggle or the strain, I'm gonna keep, Focused. I'm gonna keep going. I may get a little distracted here and there. Don't, I'm not going to shame or blame myself. I'm not gonna be having any doubt. I know who I am in Christ Jesus. I'm back up. I slid down the wall. I fell. I tripped, but I jumped back up. I'm going. I'm going. I'm I'm still walking. I'm still walking. The cross fell off my shoulder, but I picked it back up. I'm still moving. You see? Paul understood, The past cannot be allowed to compete with the promise. can't. You can't allow the past to compete with the promise that God has given you. Some of you are standing at the doorway. mighty God, of something God promised you, but you keep looking back at something he already buried. Stop digging up what God already closed. Stop reopening conversations. God already ended. When that conversation about that old person comes up, they say, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm the righteousness of God. I don't care how it sounds to anybody. I, there shall be no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Whatever it is, Jesus used scripture, and we should too. Stop revisiting places God already delivered you from. I want to close with this. I want to speak directly to the woman, to the person listening. You survived what was supposed to destroy you. You are not who your trauma said you were. You are not who rejection called you. You are not who your past labeled you. You are who God says you are. You are. You are chosen. You are called. You are equipped. You are covered. You are anointed. And this is your season to put on the blinders. I can't see nothing else. I don't see is Jesus. I can't see you. I can't hear you. I can't see you. I don't care. I don't wanna know. I don't care what you think. Jesus, Jesus said, you know, this is your season to stop looking around at who left, who cares? Oh, I have the one. I have the one. I have the one, who controls it all? Who knows it all? Who is it all? Am I all? Stop looking around. about who left you. This is your season to stop explaining yourself to people committed to misunderstanding you. Oh, an explanation to anybody. About your identity. But since there is no condemnation and no shame, I speak friendly about my testimony of where God brought me from, but not to explain myself to you. But for his glory. Hallelujah. To set the captives free because he has called us to go into the world and teach and preach and reach with the gospel. And there's nothing that you can say. There's nothing that you can do. There's nothing. to condemn or shame me because I am free. I am the righteousness of God. I know who I is. I know, I put my face to the floor and worship him. I read my word and worship him. I deny my flesh, and I sacrifice and worship him. I obey him. So there's nothing. That the Holy Spirit hasn't given me to know, to discern, to understand that when people are committed to misunderstanding me, I know. I don't know, no explanation. You know this. This is your season to plow. to plow, move forward. Scripture says in Hebrews, chapter 12 and one through 2. Let us throw off everything that hinders and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Fixing our eyes on Jesus. Let us run. So the final declaration in this episode, I want to, hey, Father, I want everyone to say, Father, I declare. I declare, I declare clarity. over my assignment. Focus. Your will over mine. In my final declaration, Father, I declare that every listener will walk boldly into their assignment. Every chain of shame is broken. Every voice of doubt is silence. Hush. Every distraction loses power. Every old door that does not belong in their future closes permanently. Lord God, give them strength to protect their oil. Courage to obey your voice and determination to finish what you call them to do. In Jesus matched this mighty name, amen. And amen. If you receive that, Say amen. My final thoughts for this episode, in the Holy Spirit, with the Holy Spirit's guidance and direction is, Don't look back. There is no oil in what God already delivered you from. There was no assignment behind you. There was no blessing and yesterday's obedience. Keep your eyes forward, keep your hands on the plow. God. is not finished with you yet. Believe that.
